is this legal? our country was founded on the idea of seperation of church from state. i know this sight is old but i just now came across it. this is why religion scares me!

a little more about our founding fathers before you read this sight:

Benjamin Franklin:
"I have found Christian dogma unintelligible. Early in life, I absenteed myself from Christian assemblies."
"Lighthouses are more helpful then churches."

John Adams:
"Where do we find a precept in the Bible for Creeds, Confessions, Doctrines and Oaths, and whole carloads of other trumpery that we find religion encumbered with in these days?"
"The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity."
"This would be the best of all possible worlds, if there were no religion in it."

Legal? of course it is legal. citizens can express their freedom of religion. If they want to organize to pray for government officials they have every right to. Why would it terrify you for people to express their freedoms? Are you one of those ninnies that only believes in rights that you yourself think people should have? Would it terrify you if people organized an anti war rally or passed out literature that praised science as the answer to replace religion? Im guessing it wouldn't bother you in the least.

You should be ten times more worried about the fact that both parties of the US government are basically under heavy influence of zionist AIPAC, a lobby for a foreign governmnt which basically controls the USA's foreign policy especially with regard to the middle east. Not only is our government acting in the interests of a foreign government (Israel) over our own, but are continuing to follow this path despite the fact that Americans are no longer in favor of it and wasting trillions of dollars of tax payer money in the process and sending our yong men and women to death and disfigurement by the thousands, despite the fact that Iraq never attacked us and did not have WMD. Now AIPAC screams for war against Iran, even though Iran is no threat to the United States and has always cooperated with the United Nations regarding inspections of its nuclear program, while the nation that AIPAC is calling for war to favor has never once allowed any inspection of it's nuclear programs and has flaunted this fact in the face of the world.

first of all find me the words "separation of church and state" in any founding American document... You wont find one... why? because it's from a letter from Thomas Jefferson to Danbury church.... so no America was not founded on the idea of separation of church and state. It was not founded on any ONE idea however many ideas about freedom of religion, speech, press, etc

Thanks for bringing that to my attention however im not sure how accurate it is... It says "For example, nowhere in the Constitution will you find words like "right to privacy" or even "right to a fair trial." Does this mean that no American citizen has a right to privacy or a fair trial? Does this mean that no judge should ever invoke these rights when reaching a decision? " However Ammendment 6 states (quote from another government website) "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense." The impartial jury part assumes that it will be fair.... However no where is there a premise where one can even remotely assume the statement of separation of church and state. The only one close enough is freedom of religion

To your Youtube posting this has satire written all over it and the guy even says "This video is under the comedy section, so I hope that tells you a little about what I think of this promo."

Uhoh a Ben franklin quote about God "And have we now forgotten that powerful Friend? Or do we imagine we no longer need His assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? "

Yes there is separation of church and state but I don't think the "Presidential Prayer Team" violated that unless they are being sponsored by the government. I did not get that impression. I think that is just some church doing that to encourage praying. It certainly did not terrify me.

I just wonder though if by "pray the vote " they are trying to suggest certain candidates are godly and others are not. Then I would object to that.

Guy: If you review the speeches from Adolf Hitler in his rise to power in the late, Nazi Germany, you will find similar quotations in regard to the Jews and their beliefs. Did not the western axis powers spear-headed by the U.S. destroy Nazi Germany because of this biased, self-serving "legalism" ? When you remove the right to be wrong choice of individuals, you have the state of condition, of the nations, from which the masses came, prior to living in America.

You left out some choice words by Jefferson, Washington and other founding fathers. What is terrifying here is not that some politician uses religion to get votes-on a global view they do it all the time-but that these bronze age religions still sway the vote. Not reason not logic not fact but superstition and myth.

All that that site illustrates is freedom of religion. What, people can't have an organization which prays for our government? Even if the president himself is part of it, it's not unconstitutional. He would simply be exercising his freedom of religion.

Religion IS guilty of all of the above. It is False religion. John Adams is describing the Catholic church.
Also note that the two men who were U.S.A. Presidents, served prior to 1870.
God has promised that as Armageddon nears, Bible truths will be gradually revealed.
When Daniel wrote his book, he was told to seal it up until the end. (Daniel 12:9) And he went on to say: “Go, Daniel, because the words are made secret and sealed up until the time of [the] end.

Which is now!.
