Can we be of one mind? Or is this impossible? Is it a fantasy? A nightmare? Am I just naive?

There is oneness. We are not able to see it due to the ego factor within us. It is the ego that is the source of all creation. If there was no ego, the One would not have evolved into the universe with its multiitude life forms. You can realize the oneness but not by merely theorizing about it or contemplating on the idea but through deep mediation. Beyond the ego lies the realm of God. One within all. This is what the Hindus call Nirvikalpa Samadhi and the Buddhists Nirvana.

That'd be a nightmare. Sounds like the Borg. The end result of this would of course be a void of sameness. When all you have is an endless collective of sameness you have a void. Think about that for a minute. Without any diversity, all that exists is sameness. A void of sameness.

Both the mind and heart of man function in duality. Unity outside the spirit of Christ is impossible.

Unity of the spirit in the bond of peace with Christ Jesus ties all true Christians together. Yet, even those who experience unity in the spirit do not have the mind of Christ; which is necessary for oneness.

Good and evil are currently in a oneness contest. Good to unify and free all men in the spirit of Christ; evil to unify and confine all men under religious order. (The later has both a political and economic arm).

Unity in Christ or confusion with the god of this world.

There can never be oneness. In order for this to happen everyone has to believe the same thing even in the same religion people believe different things. However we can be tolerent even though we don't accept the other persons view, we can be tolerent but not one.

We don't really need oneness. What we need is a basic moral standard and a basic respect for one another. I don't think we should tolerate everything and everyone, because some things should not be tolerated, but there is a line somewhere that needs to be drawn and then we need to recognize that above that line people will disagree.

No, I do not. I think that, even in the most metaphorical sense of the word, we will never be less than two minds. Those with a mind for God, and those with a mind against. Though I wish it weren't so, this is how it must be.

In love,...

One thing I've noticed here on Y/A is that no matter who you are, what you believe, or what you say, you can not make everyone happy.
The only way we can be of one mind is if we focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. I know of no way to get everyone together to agree on that.

Oneness can never be unless people believe that there is One God. And that one God would have to draw all people unto Him, and let all the others fall away.

Wait, that's what Jesus is doing..
