The Vedas are the ultimate source of Truth regarding God and creation. We also have the Tantras, the Bhagavad Gita and other texts written by ancient Indian sages.
However, you may not be able to comprehend the content of these ancient and highly valuable texts directly due to the language used and the obscurity in which it is written.
The best way to understand Hinduism is to read off the shelf books or websites. The problem is most books do not give a true representation of what Hinduism is all about and simply categorizes it as a religion of million Gods.

Hinduism is the only Religion, which tells the ways to reach the ultimate enlightenment
Whereas other religions end the search for Truth at Hells and Heavens, hinduism states that Hells and Heavens are only transitory, and one has to take re-birth again and again, till one reaches highest state of Enlightenment
Thus as per hinduism, the highest enlightenment is not heavens, getting virgins, or enjoyments there.... it is the state where our individual consciousness merges into the Supreme
No relgion has yet reached this idea of Enlightenment
Meditation and Yogas (Bhakti yoga, Raja yoga, Kriya, yoga, Gyan yoga, Karma Yoga) are the ways to attain this Enlightenment
Veda upanishadas and Gita tell us the way how to attain Enlightenment
Patanjali Yoga Sutras are the best explained ways to attain this Enlightenment in this very birth

Note: These are my opinions please do not take them personally.
If GOD is really one then how it could be bound to only a single religion like hindu or muslim or any other.
Though we all say GOD is same, GOD is one, nobody of us actually understand this. And we keep fighting against each other thinking that we are doing great job for our religion.
The one who actully understood that GOD is really one, quietly got out of this fight and started his journey towards GOD.
When everyone will truely understand, that GOD is really one, there will be peace.
Riligion is a great illusion. It is very difficult to break it and bring people out of it.
My freind there are no scripts to attain GOD and Salvation.
Theres only one thing that is followed by all religions.
Think what is it??
Think.
No.
OK
It's Meditation.
Meditation is only one process which is followed by all religions.
But think of no GOD, no chanting of any mantrs during meditation.
Just sit, relax and be blank. Try to reduce thoughts which will keep disturbing you. But dont stop. Just carry on.
If you practice this everyday for 30 to 40 mins, you will see the effects in a months period.
Good Luck.

I don't know about Hindu Scriptures but I will tell you that in the Holy Bible, in John 3:16 it is mentioned like this:
God so loved the world that He gave His only begotton son, that WHOSOEVER believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Believing in Jesus as the Saviour of mankind will give you Salvation and in the process you will have access to heaven/God.

There are many within the Hindu tradition. The Bhagavad Gita is perhaps the most popular, but it is not limited to just this text. The holy Vedas and their Upanishads, many of the great Sutras, etc.
There are four major yogas:
Bhaktiyoga
Karmayoga
Jnanayoga
Rajayoga
Most would recommend a combination of the yogas, but any one will ultimately get one to one's goal: God.
Peace be with you

There is only one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ to obtain Salvation. The scripture is in the Holy Bible (KJV) 1611. Also here is a website that has alot more information.
