Yes, you can replace the UPS battery with a car battery, assuming the voltage is the same. Some UPS devices use NiCad batteries which have a different cell voltage from lead acid batteries.

There is one important consideration that you must keep in mind. The UPS battery is sealed and doesn't vent fumes into the air. A car battery is not sealed and will vent fumes, mainly hydrogen and oxygen gas, into the air. This can become an explosion danger if it can built to a sufficient density. If you do this, keep the battery in a very well ventilated area. Outside would be best, running correctly sized wires to the UPS.

There is no such thing as an AC battery.

I doubt it would fit (just talking about physical dimension). There's also the risk of spillage (as it is a wet cell vs a dry cell battery.) Having battery acid spill into the UPS could start a fire, and having it spill onto you could cause you serious burns.

It turns out you can make your own UPS using a car battery and inverter though, see the link,

(To the other answerer, the car battery and the UPS battery are both DC. There are no AC batteries currently in commercial use anywhere.)

Absolutely yes, you can replace your UPS battery with a car battery,
it is more advantageous to use car battery, because car batteries have longer life span compared to the UPS batteries,
the difference between the two is UPS batteries have short life span and is very expensive, the charging cycle is the same...

No you can't, Car batteries are designed to be cold cranked. If you put a car battery a UPs it will not be able to withstand the constant charge of the charger and will catch fire and explode.
