It is rare for a female to have her first heat before 6 months, unless it is a toy breed..She can't get pregnant until she has her first heat. the mating happens when she quits having a blood tinged discharge..then she can get pregnant during the next 2 weeks or so.
.It is far better to have her spayed before 6 months, than to risk a young pregnancy..
At her first heat, she is just as young as a human girl having her first period..about 11 years old..Much too young to safely have puppies.

She will probably be nine months or more old before she comes into her first heat. So if you are sure she's only 5 months you don't have to worry about pregnancy YET.. If she is acting sick, she could have contracted worms or an illness from another dog or even walking in the park where a sick dog hurled or pooed.. If she's not quite right, take her to the vet for a check up so you can set your mind at ease or start treating what ever she picked up. It could even be something as simple as changing her feed.. My daughter has to start her Samoyed on a chicken diet because red meat didn't agree with her.. We had another dog that was just the opposite. Take care and make a notebook about your dog. Ask you vet about symptoms of pregnancy when you take her in. OR go to the library and check out the books on dog breeding. Vets like to know you have taken some notes on what 'normal' is for an animal when they start looking over a possibly sick animal.. Besides, if you start a notebook and take some pictures it will make a nice keepsake for when she has puppies. Future puppy buyers would love a look at the mama when she was a young lady. that is IF you want puppies eventually. Take care and enjoy your Lady.

She cannot go in heat as she is too young. She cannot get pregnant without first going in heat. I did have one larger dog get pregnant at 8 months - which is very young. Her vulva will swell and she will have a clear and then bloody discharge when she is in heat. Dogs do have false pregnancies too. They can have a false heat prior to a true heat. Your girl is too young right now to get pregnant so I wouldn't worry about it.

She cannot get pregnant until she is in heat. Once she has come into heat their is a 24 hour window where she will stand for the male and she can get pregnant. So either desex her prior to her first heat or keep him away once she starts to bleed or vulva swells.

at 5 months, she should not be in heat yet. If he took her anyway, then he has possibly caused her damage inside.

You need to take her to a vet...immediately.

Please consider spaying your little dog. :)

Good luck.
