They'll arrest you, charge you with possession, and you'll go to court. You will be considered innocent until proven guilty. You'll have to defend yourself. If it's in your car and you knew it, then you're not innocent.

Oh heavens -- was someone else in the car with you when you were pulled over? Did the police have you hold the "evidence" so your fingerprints are on it? If not you can request that it be tested for fingerprints -- of course, you'd have to be confident yours aren't on it. Do you know who's it is and how it got there? You might try giving this info. up in exchange for leniency. Was the car actually registered to you or was it someone else's you were driving? Was the car ever left unlocked and where others would have access to it -- or was it a convertible? Was it recently loaned to someone else or out for service where others had access to it -- there's a lot of questions that could be raised but it looks like the cards are stacked against you unless you give them something better. Otherwise what happens usually is parole is rejected (or whatever they call it) and you go back to prison for the rest of your original sentence and for a new one on the new charge.

Unfortunately, da_hal is pretty accurate. You need to keep the people that might do that kind of thing out of your car! Do yourself a favor and quit associating with those bums! Don't EVEN give them a ride, at all. Those kinds are the best at pulling a con on you. Just tell them NO. No matter what they use to tempt you, dude. They say this or that and be ready for the "do you have ___?" or "can you___?" Tell yourself fifty times a day for each person "NO, sorry." When they ask you will, hopefully, be on guard to say NO.
There are some legal defenses to this but with your priors I don't know... It will vary from state to state. The "it aint mine" or "someone must have decided to put drugs in my car because they like me" defense will not work. Probably the best that you can do is talk to the prosecution and help them get the real bad person that did it and you take a slap on the wrist by being VERY helpfull and co-operating and probably plead guilty. Ya, I know that would be breaking the drugie law to rat them out but dude THEY RATTED YOU OUT BY PUTTING IT THERE. They don't give a crap that you are going to jail for them. They will laugh and say "Ya, that dope went to jail for what I did b/c he's too chicken***t too put it on me" am I right or am I right? So you got honor if you don't rat but it doesn't get you nothin and nowhere. You can't eat honor and you aren't gonna get far b/c you got honor. Hell dude, stick up for yourself!
Long story short: don't let them in your car b/c it WILL HAPPEN to you dude.
The "but it aint mine" legal defense WILL NOT WORK, AT ALL, EVER! and it WILL be worse for you w/ your priors.
If you are very rich then you could get an expensive attorney to fight it off but you wouldn't be doing this if you had money, right.
Up your standard of living like ten notches and STOP HANGING WITH THE ADDICTS AND PUSHERS. TODAY, NOW. RIGHT FRIGGIN, NOW!

Well lets see, that's about an ounce and a half and would definitely be concidered intent to sell . I was a meth addict for several years and your not fooling anyone , especially a judge . Your still hanging with the same crowd so the judge isn't going to cut you a deal. Admit your an addict and get help and maybe you'll get a break . Good luck getting off the stuff, it don't get much harder .

depends on if you were in the car or not. If you own the car with someone else, or someone else uses your car, get a lawyer. He will argue that you did not have sufficient control of the car to be responsible for the meth. If you are the only person using the car get a lawyer anyway.

If it's your car and you're in control, you are responsible for the contents of the vehicle. If it's your car and you're not in it, then it's the driver's responsibility.
If it's in your car and no one's in it, it's your responsibility.
If it's your car and you're not driving.......it's a tricky situation, but you would most likely have to prove it's not yours.
