My Grandma was very old, she is a Buddhist [dono its Buddhist or Taoist].

Doctor told us to be prepared and start to plan for her 'after-life' ceremony/service.

Had try calling up spore casket & some other "funeral" company.
They r not willing to reveal the process and cost. Was being told to come back atfer e person passed on.

I was being told that there is 3 type of Funeral:
1] Held the Service @ Singapore Casket Parlour,
2] At VOID DECK [apply permit from e Town Councils],
3] At TEMPLE .

Can anyone tell me what the differences? Also , any thing to pay attention to due to religious ? As the elder always said that there is taboo or Rules to pay attention to when helding Funeral.

For cremetion , is there any difference as of where the Ashes\Urns should be kept?
Was told that we can either bring it HOME, TEMPLE or COLOMBARIUM. Whats the differences?

Can anyone advise me of what to do or prepare?

Than kYou.
*PLEASE, i am looknig forerious Answer

Since she is buddhist or taoist, any Funeral companies starting with "Ang" is fine. They have a full package, including Taoist priest (lam mo lo), ice creams monks. The bereaved simply take their cues on what to do next. Haggle along the way. Can wake be held for 2 days instead of 7 days, this cut down on embalming and sealed coffin. Better put the ashes at home and disperse at sea later. Engage one monk instead of several etc, better still a fake monk since there are no certification for monks here. Anyone can don some yellow robe and chant in any languages. Opt for scaled down model of afterlife home instead of condo size paper houses.
Funerals really for the sake of the the living and to keep up the appearance. There'll be lots of busybodies giving plenty of advice so there won't be any shortage. See it from a humorous standpoint and you be alright.

u arent suppose to wash your hair for few days and no jade emperor worshipping for 3 years (or some a couple of years depends on how close you are to the deceased).
the ashes can be kept at home (for daily praying), temple and colombarium. don't think there's any difference.
oh yea, gotta dress her up properly before her time is "up".
as for the funeral process, u might want to seek some advice from the "pros".

i am so sorry to know that. be strong aight?
