I really like a woman I'm dating. We are both in our thirties. I want to write her a poem, yet I'm embarrassed. I'm not a very good poet. In fact, I don't have a poem yet.
What should I do? Could I send her a poem from a book? (I'll give credit to the author. :)

Don't take the poem from a book. Write the poem if you want to give her a poem. If you are really embarrassed you can write her a poem and deliver it in a silly/cheesy way. Write it in crayon and illustrate it. Or you can just go all out and be romantic give her roses. It doesn't matter how good the poem is. All that matters is that it was written for her out of love. She'll think it's sweet even if it's terrible.

There's nothing like being in love, and when someone inspires you so much that you would want to write a poem or quote one from a famous author is so AWESOME! I say, go with your gut feeling on this. Feel free to share the secrets of your heart, especially, if you feel you can trust her with it. Does she make your heart sing?, then sing out loud, so she can hear you, however you want to present it to her. Go for it!

Unless you are a poet at heart, and are used to expressing yourself through poetry, I suggest you write her a love letter. I guarantee she will treasure your letter forever. We women love to hear how our men feel about us in words! You sound like a very special guy to think of doing such a romantic thing for the woman you love. Good luck!

whatever works for u will be fine though for me, personally, i would like to get a poem that is personalized rather than copied from a book. but if u feel like u r not really sure about it, just pick a very good poem. or if u have a friend, ask him/her to write one for you and tell ur lady "i even asked my friend to write a poem for u becoz..." just fill the blank... good luck...
