The sin comes in when we lose control of our mind and our tongue because of drugs and alchol. We know that the most evil part of humans is their mouth. The words we say are what condemn us and it is almost impossible to control when high or drunk.

The only thing that is good or evil are the things that come from within side a person out towards the rest of the world, that is the only place good or evil lay. God created the world and saw that it was good. The bible says things such as drinking are OK as long as it is in moderation, everything should be in moderation otherwise it can do you harm, excess is not good for you. You can however get drunk or whatever and commit sins.

It can probably be entwined with the sin of neglect, and considered a venial sin. It can lead to mortal sin, however, is not a mortal sin.

This is a question that you need to ask God.......Pray to Him, read His Word....He will let you know the answer to this question. Just a little word of advise though......if you have any doubts at all about something that you are doing or thinking (drinking, smoking, partying, lying to your parents, stealing, etc.) then best bet is to NOT do it!

I would suggest you see a priest if you are a Catholic or your pastor about it. I don't want to judge you, but if the drinking is preventing you from functioning normally then there is something wrong.
