I love my girlfriend, yet she and I attend different types of church. Should I let this get in the way? Is there a compromise? We both believe in G-d, but worship in different ways.

Thank you. G-d bless.

Don't let religion get in the way of your feelings. Now-a-days it's a lot more acceptable and as long as you both believe in the same general ideals then it won't matter if you're Christian and she's Catholic, the morals and main ideas are the same. My brother married a lovely Jewish woman and we're Christian and both families are so happy for both of them. As long as you love and care about her, then religion will not be an issue.

If you both can respect eachothers ways of praying to God then nothing else matters. If you think that your relationship cannot withstand all the comments that may come your way from ignorant people then you need to rethink things. In the end we all are aiming for the same supreme being, but its just through alternate ways. Respect is what you truly have to have for one anothers beliefs for it to work, and if you dont have it, it wont work cuz something will cause you two to drift apart whether it be putting ones' religion as more important or wanting your children to follow one over the other. Its a tough decision, but when you love someone, these things arent given more importance, but you do have to meet a compromise.

Religion can 'make-it or break-it' for some couples, but I think religion is only a deciding factor if you allow it to be. For some people, religion isn't a major stumbling block, even if they worship different gods, either because religion isn't as important to them as other qualities or because there is no major conflict and they can live together, even though they hold different beliefs or follow different belief systems. For others, it is a problem and if it does bother you -- or if you foresee problems in future, perhaps related to marriage or children, if you're contemplating it -- then you might want to discuss it with your girlfriend now and see if you can come to a compromise. I don't know your specific situation, so I can't suggest one, but if it's so important to you, then you probably want to make your feelings known sooner rather than later. It's likely not an insurmountable obstacle, especially as your religions are based on the same (or similar) principles. I wish you best of luck.

My guy is Hindu and I am Christian, and we are doing just fine. And, you answered your own question...it will get in the way "if you let it". Your best choice is to speak with her about this. Communication is what makes or breaks a relationship.

I think you're drowning in a glass of water, if both of you love the same God, then what's the problem?

Well I cannot say about all religions but the christian religion forbids a relationship with someone outside they're own cult.
