Once head lice are found, the problem should be taken care of quickly in order to prevent it from spreading to others. One such treatment to safely eliminate lice and their eggs, is with a lice crème rinse, Nix*, that can be purchased without a prescription from any drug store. It is the most effective of the available treatments.
Wash the hair with a mild shampoo that contains NO CONDITIONER. Apply Nix crème rinse taking care to keep it out of the eyes, nose and mouth. Let it remain on the hair for 10 minutes. If Nix gets in the eyes, flush it out with water immediately.
Rinse the hair with water. After towel drying the head with a clean towel, do not reuse the towel, put it in the laundry.
Use a comb to divide the hair into four equal parts (quarters). Select one "quarter" in which to begin combing. Lift up a portion of the hair approximately one inch wide out of the quarter selected.
Starting at the top of the scalp, using a firm and even motion toward the end of the hair strand, use your fingernails to remove the nits. A LiceMeister™ brand comb may be used to help remove lice and nits (to order, call toll-free 1-888-542-3634).
Pin back each one inch portion of hair with a bobby pin or hair clip. Continue this procedure until the first "quarter" is completed. Do not drop the nits on the floor, put them in the garbage.
Repeat the above procedure for the remaining three "quarters" until all of the hair has been picked and pinned.
Remove all hair pins and thoroughly rinse the entire head of hair with water. Do not re-use the hair pins until washed in hot soapy water.
After hair has dried, recheck entire head for stray nits and remove any remaining nits. Remember, you may have to repeat this procedure more than once.
Examine all family members for the next three weeks. If any live lice are seen, repeat treatment. You may use Nix again after 7-10 days, but this is not usually necessary. The product, if directions are followed, is at least 95% effective at getting rid of the lice and its lice killing effects continue to work for up to 14 days.

The only way to make them go away is to go to a drugstore buy the special shampoo. All you do is shapoo it in your hair leave it for awhile then with a thin comb (included with the shampoo) You comb through your hair to remove the lice. You do this for a few days.
Home remedys is shave your hair bald, outside and change your clothes or you can dye your hair and that will also kill the lice. But this is very extreme, althought thats what my cousin did when her and her son had lice. she dyed hers and shaved his lol.
But I'd stick to buying the Head Lice Shampoo at the drugstore =) Alsoyou can go to the doctor but they will just tell uyou to get the over the counter shampoo at a drugstore. Well good luck =)

wash and vacuum everything cloth.
Put apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle. Spray your hair until it is saturated. Wait thirty minutes, making sure your hair doesn't dry out (spray more vinegar on if it starts to). Wash your hair, then comb it with a lice comb. Do this every day, and the lice should be gone within a week. The vinegar kills the adults AND, unlike the lice shampoos, it loostens the eggs, so they comb right out.

you just have to bevigilant about washing combs, brushes, bedding, scarves, hats, clothes etc. Spray down furniture that can't be washed with a lice specific insecticide. Treat the hair with a otc lice treatment, don't wash hair too much during the treatment period, then treat again in 7-10 days to kill all of the newly hatched lice before they become sexually mature. Daily nit combing is also recommended.

Tea Tree Oil is your best bet. You should be able to get it in a good pharmacy. It has a very strong smell, but if used before shampooing, it really does the trick.

put olive oil on your head for a few hours, then have someone pick out the nits after wards. it sucks but its better than using that headlice shampoo which is very toxic.
