I went for two years without sexual involvement with anyone Trust me, it was not easy. I did it, to test myself really. I didnt want to have casual sex anymore. I wanted to be with somebody who meant something to me. I was married for 19 years and divorced for three now. What I can say about myself is that I put my whole focus and energy into myself. Oh, trust me, I have a ton of guys asking me out and hitting on me all the time. So, my reasons had nothing to do with opportunity. It had more to do with quality and wanting the very best for myself. Hope that makes sense.

My friend who's in a sort of similar situation has worn out a vibrator or two during her celibacy.

So I guess it depends on the girl. Maybe your coworker is nonorgasmic, or has had a bad experince with sex and doesn't consider it that great. I think it's easier for women to refrain from sex if they're not in love. Obviously, it's easy to do if you don't know what you're missing. And for women in general, the emotional aspect of sex is just as important as the physical part.

There are some people who are asexual, and they just don't think sex is all that spectacular.

It definitely isn't that way for me, though. I know that I hate it if I have to go more than six days without my boyfriend, let alone six years.
