I would agree with the first response that everyone DEFINITELY needs more that six hours of sleep every night. However, to determine the optimum amount of sleep that your body needs, I suggest that you RISE at the same time every day and then go to sleep at night as soon as you feel tired. Who really has the ability to get out of bed whenever he/she feels like it?? For a few days, follow this procedure and DO NOT take any naps. If after a few days you are not sleeping at least seven and a half hours, then maybe consider taking an hour-long nap in the mid- or late afternoon. Also, avoid changing your sleep schedule over the weekend.

"Almost 6 hours a day" is NOT enough sleep. Most people need 8 hours.

Here's how to find out how much your body needs:
Go to bed at the same time every night for three nights. Let yourself wake up naturally each morning. The amount of hours you sleep on the third night is how many hours you need every night.
