Are you trying figure out what branch to join or which one not to join? What ever your reason I actually wrote a report on this subject so I have the % handy. Army=6% USMC= 9.3% USAF=1.1% NAVY=2.9% USCG=2%
there ya go buddy, but I got to tell you in my studies I have learned that when you rely on answers from other people 80% of their statistics are made up on the spot.
Also, your stats are peoples deaths if you want to know so bad why didn't you take some time and read the names your self.

The individual with the Globalsecurity link provided fine statistics.
Now to correct the mis-understandings of others:
The Coast Guard IS deployed overseas, and does deal with ordenance. I worked with them during the first Gulf War when they protected the harbors of Baharain and Saudi Arabia.
The Air Force has folks OTHER than pilots out in harms way... my "brothers" in the PJ's (Combat SAR), the Pathfinders, and all aircrew (non-pilot).
Statistically speaking, in the last decade I would imagine that the Air Force has the lowest casualty rate.

The Air Force....
The reason being, that a very small percentage of this service is actually up against any kind of dangers. This small percentage is constituted of pilots. Others are all sitting in peace.

OK I don't know this for a fact however the Coast Guard seems to have a low mortality rate since they don't deal with bombs or any other ordnances.

i would assume the coast gaurd since they dont leave the states. the marines and army are the worst because they are on the ground a lot, being shot at. airforce and navy less because they fight from more of a protected situation but in war most anyone can get killed, the coast gaurd are at risk mostly from drug nuts.

My guess would be the Navy. This is just a guess but it seems logical that they would have less casualties.
