John B's post is correct. I won't give particulars on what's happening with deployments now that we're in Iraq, for security reasons. I know the Marine deployments are typically shorter than the Army deployments, though... especially in Aviation Electronics/Mechanics.

Oh... so you'll be "stationed" at a regular Marine base... and then "deployed" for a period of time... then return to the base at which you're stationed. Make sense?

East Coast
West Coast


The rest are in the pacific between Hawaii and Okinawa Japan. Many of the aviation units when I was in NC get rotated regularly to Italy for about 3-4 months at a time. Who knows now with Iraq, but your permanent station will be one of the above.
