Do (or have) you taken paxil and have you had your cortisol tested? If so what was the result? Were your cortisol levels out of whack?

I took 15 mg of Paxil daily for 6 months. Around month 5, I rapidly gained 15 pounds. My weight has never fluctuated in my life, other than this.

I quit the Paxil after 6 months and lost all the extra weight within 3 weeks, without trying. I was really pissed off because my doctor refused to list weight gain as one of my side effects, saying "Weight gain is not a known side effect of Paxil."

Well duh, if all doctors refuse to report it, then they all keep saying that! I hated Paxil. It was horrible for me. I don't take anything now.

i took paxil, and ended up gaining like 10-15 pounds (of course, i did go off to college too, so part of that might have been my "freshman 15"). i never had my cortisol tested, but i believe that it was paxil that made me gain weight.
