I love taking Photos and have never purchased a professional camera. I want something with a fast shutter speed and a professional look and feel.

Assuming you're not going to go with medium format and spend about what you would on a nice car...I swear by my Canon 1d MKIIn and am anxiously awaiting the 1d MK III in May. Are these the best...for me they are...but I bet there would be some folks who beg to differ. If you are just going for look and feel...go for a Nikon D50 or Canon Digital Rebel and spend your money on a white lens of some sort.

The best professional digital camera in terms of it's megapixel robustness would have to be the 39 megapixel Hasselblad H3. However, in terms of practicality and affordability I would concur that the Nikon D200 would be a good camera to start with as a professional. It is a well constructed and rugged camera which really distinguishes itself apart from cheaper digital SLR's. However, if you have a bit more money then look at the Canon Mark II or Mark III.
