It seems like it would be easier to be a strong Christian when you are married because you do not have to deal with not having sex. That is my biggest temptation and if I was married it seems as if it would be gone. Am I being stupid? It probably gets harder...right?

I feel like its one of the reasons that a lot of young adults aren't strong in the faith and no one really talks about this topic.

It depends on the quality of the marriage I would think. I'm sure the difficulty of denying yourself sex before marriage is an issue certainly. However, if the marriage is not solid and Christian based, it can be like a burr under your saddle and will cause you to be frustrated with your life. Marriage is a great deal more than sex on demand. It could be a good thing or a bad thing. Like I said, it depends.

Being single definitely has its share of temptations and trials but

Being married will bring forth a different set of challenges for one to face. There is the temptation of adultery... even the wisest of men, King Solomon fell prey to Adultery.

Being married will forth progeny, which means you will be the one whom your children will look up to as they grow up, hence the challenge of nurturing and providing for someone other than oneself can be training in Jesus' teachings of caring for others... many time one will be face with the "choice" both major and minor.... My Family first or My Job first? eg. Jr's first school play or a big money showering project. One has emotional long term value and the other material long term benefits.

These moments are where ones study of Jesus' teachings and biblical advice is given a chance to be put in practice, via Wisdom, Love and Understanding.

It is quite a bit harder. Because then you have a woman to tempt you into evil. It's no accident that priests and monks tend to avoid relationships with women altogether. You are better off without.

I used to think the same thing. WRONG. Its just as hard when your married. Sexual desire is not our only problem. You'll realize the other sins in your life once your hormones chill out.
