gargle with very warm salt water 2 times a day, then use an saline nasal spray often called "Ocean Spray" No not the juice, it's in the pharmacy dept at any store that has one. There are off brands. I do this once a day. Make sure to flood your nose until the saline solution hits the back of your throat. These two things that will help balance the good and bad bacteria in the back of your throat. I use to get colds all the time. This has reduced greatly since I have used salt water gargle and saline nose spray.
hot tea decaff for your throat and to help declogg your congestion. LOTS & LOTS of water. REST and sleep!!!! No sugars and junk food while u are sick. Don't speak unless you have to.
There is always chicken noodle soup too. :)

I guess my solution agrees with Freezerspider - I recommend a walk on the beach ! Seriously - the wind carries the salt in the air and you breathe that in (beats an inhaler anyday !)- it also lifts your spirits tremendously which helps your mind overcome the cold too ! Enjoy :-)

Plenty of fruit intake and plenty of fresh air and central heating turned on too high is a no.Open window ajar in bedroom and boil a kettle in the room before sleep.Try Tiger Balm to clear your nose passage way also.I hope it helps.

You dont get rid of a cold. all you can do is help the symptoms. If it persist more than a week then check with your doctor.

work on the symptoms and the cold has to run its course...take tylenol and non drowsy decongestant and lots of fluids and hot soup and rest and at night take a decongestant that is the drowsy kind

resting your voice as much as possible, dont strain it, write things down or mime if need be, drinking honey with lemon, paracetamol, and plenty of rest, i hope it goes ok for you
