I have been struggling with acne since i was about 15 (i am 18 now and still struggling though not as bad.) I have found out a couple things. One: Just washing your face won't heal anything, acne is a medical disorder whether or not you want to believe it. I have practiced in multiple medical trials, and then i tried proactive. Believe it or not, proactive really did work. If you follow the program intently, and do not pick at your face for about 2 weeks, pro active shows about an 80% improvement. Within a month, your acne will be 95% gone and it will feel great. My only problem is sticking with the program. I was embarrassed by acne and i felt the need to pick at my face. Don't DO THIS! it is the sole reason why most people continue to get acne. Let the medicine do the work, and remember: Acne isnt something that you chose to live with. You are doing your best to get rid of it, so dont be embarrassed. I wish you the best of luck in your adventure and hope you have all of the success i have had with proactive.

Have you considered or heard of " ARBONNE CLEAR ADVANTAGE"? This is a 4 step system for the face. It includes a Acne wash- unclogs pores and keeps new outbreaks under control. A Toner- contains alpha hydroxy acid to balance and calm skin, removes excess oils and sooths skin, then the ACNE lotion- oil free and penetrates pores to fight blemish bacteria
Step 4 includes a Acne Dietary Supplement that supports the skin from inside out. It targets troubled skin with vitamins, minerals and l-lysine. Products are FDA approved and backed by a 45 day money back guarantee. You order them on line and they are delivered to your door.

for more info see:http://tryitandloveit.myarbonne.com

Anyhow, remember this:
1-keep your hands to your self...touching skin encourages the spread of bacteria and excess oils
2-excessive cleansing and scrubbing can make acne worse
3-all products -regardless of brand-require an adjustment period and your best results will be noted after 4-6 weeks of use.

Good luck.

I have been using L'Oreal Adult Acne Response and it is the only thing that I have found that works, although I didn't try proactiv. They also have another formula for intensive peel. Anyway its a cleanser, toner, and low dose benzoyl peroxide solution so it doesnt even make your skin get all dried up and flaky. I was having terrible cystic acne on my chin, and not anymore!

Acne was the bane of my life during my younger schooling days, and eventually, it got so serious that I had to consult a dermatologist for it. The good doctor prescibed Differin gel and Eryderm lotion for me, to be applied topically. I also had to apply sunblock faithfully (since the products would sensitize the skin), and stay away from foundation and loose powder. My skin improved drastically within 3 months, and now, I have him to thank for giving me my life and self-esteem back. :)

if u take my advise... stop looking into advertised products and head to a dermatologists.. a wrong product cud make your acne go bad and stay for the rest of your life...try ayurveda or homeopathic medicines....they take longer than chemical products and allopathy tablets but definitely treat the root cause of acne so as to not ever come back. sooth your skin with aloe vera.

Don't mess around with over the counter stuff. Go to the Dermatologist, see about Retin A or other topical remedies. They work best.
