my grandpa died about 12 years ago and I get really depressed when christmas rolls around because that was when his birthday was and he was always real big on christmas I still cry everytime I think about him. I was like 9 when he died you'd think it wouldn't be as bad but it is, it's like it just happened for me. Some people just seem to touch our lives forever and most the time we don't realize just how much until it's too late. Good Luck!

Hi there, theres nothing wrong with you. I myself have grandparents who I love so much, because my grandparenst raised my sibling and I when my mother abondend us. Well my dad was there but he had to work, but long story short I feel your pain. I mean they're not dead yet but honestly I think I would be like you if not worst. My grandparents are my everything. Theres nothing wrong with you, I feel you, I sometimes cry because I'm afraid of loosing them. I'm also afraid that the day will come and honestly I don't know how to deal with it. Just hand tight but like my grandma and grandpa always tell me, they wouldn't want me being sad all the time when they're dead because it would make them sad. You never know your grandpa could be watching over you and he wouldn't like to see you cry all the time. Sometimes the hardest part of growing up is learning to let go.....My grandma told me that and honestly I'm not ready to let go....I believe the day will come when your ready to let go and though you'll never forget them, you'll feel at ease that they're at a better place. You don't need medications unless you feel like taking them, all you need is to accept the fact that you are grieving, accept and find an outlet to express your saddness...Life will move on, crying will help, but remember life moves on every second, every minute and everyday....if listening to the songs that were played at your grandpas funeral then try not to listen to them ok? Take care, hope you feel better..

There is nothing wrong with sadness connected to the loss of a loved one. We all need to grieve in our own way, and the process may take a long time. If you are a young person, the first exposure to the death scenario can be traumatizing and super confusing. That is probably it, and the music is a triggering mechanism for the feelings you have. But as far as the sadness goes, try to understand that when a person does pass on, they are no longer in pain, no longer suffering the ravages of a sickness, no longer here but they have moved on to a beautiful, peaceful place where they can look down on loved ones, watch their lives progress and get ready for the day when we will all be reunited in peace and harmony. He is probably dismayed as to why you cry--sure you miss him--he misses you--but he's there, cheering for you and hoping you are successful and happy. He may even be a guardian angel to look over you during the tough times--keep that in mind--he is doing more for you than you will ever know--wipe those tears and make him proud. Keep in mind our bodies are just a vessel--to hold our spirit---when the body is no longer needed, is it what becomes known as our remains--it remains in the earth while the spirit is set free.Be good to your vessel, be good to yourself, be happy, enjoy your life, do the right thing and remember who is watching over you--don't look down with tears--look up and smile. Good luck and peace to you

there is nothing wrong with you...sometimes a person just needs to cry...sometimes there is a reason other times there is not...as for listening to the songs that were played at his funeral, its a common thing people go through, when the song(s) is/are played they remind you of your grandpa and it can bring in all this emotion this is perfectly normal...
...hope that helps you

It sounds to me like you may be suffering from depression. It is often brought on by some kind of tragedy in ones life. Your grandfathers death may have been what triggered it. The good news is that it can be treated and you can get back to being yourself.
What happens is that the chemical balance in your brain is thrown out of wack by the shock of the tragedy in your life. You would be surprised how many people suffer from this and don't know it or don't know that it is treatable.
There are many symptoms of depression and they vary from person to person. One of them is to react emotionally in a way that seems unreasonable , often crying and feeling sad, fatigue is also a symptom. Some people have trouble just getting out of bed to face the day and others don't have it quite so bad.
It would be a very good idea to have a look on the internet and see if the symptoms of depression apply to you so that you can understand what's happened and get some help if this applies .
I'm very sry about your grandfather .... losing a loved one is always so hard to get through . Please take care of yourself and look into this.If you are too young to do this on your own please talk to a family member and ask them to go with you to your family doctor. Don't wait ok , it's important. : )

There's nothing wrong with you. It sounds like you're still grieving the loss.
Songs tend to bring back memories that are associated with them. Such as the songs played at your grandfather's funeral.
When you feel like crying just remember the happy times.

Sara,
we naturally mourn death and you are hanging on the that moment in life.
Play the songs that you listened to while he was with you and then you will learn to celebrate his life that was shared in you.
Remember the joy and sweet dreams!

You are in a depression! But this will pass. Ask your parents (if you're not of age) to get you into counseling. I lost my grandma at an early age, and my parents put me into counseling and it helped a lot. I strongly suggest counseling. Good luck!
