Thanks for a question that got me checking up a few things. I was surprised to find out these things. You will understand why you have nothing to fear from the innocent Catholics of America. They will obey both leaders because both leaders will never disagree on anything that might harm their long term plans or their financial dealings.
The reason is quite simple. Centuries ago, many Popes from the Medici and Borgia’s married their offspring into the European royal families. Today all members of this unsavory group are connected by blood in some way. Thanks to their bankers, the Rothschilds, these families are all so financially involved that a blow to one is a blow to them all.
This elite group, also known as the Black Nobility, also include the Vatican. If anyone thinks controlling the Vatican's wealth and holdings isn't an important priority of the New World Order's global domination and genocide plan, think again. Many historians and researchers and even one American Congressman have openly said the Vatican, through the Jesuit Order in firm control of the Illuminati, is also in control of the United States Federal Reserve. They contend whoever controls the Federal Reserve of New York controls the whole United States Federal Reserve; that the roots of this control lead to the Vatican.
The Vatican has large investments with the Rothschilds of Britain, France and America, with the Hambros Bank, with the Credit Suisse in London and Zurich. In the United States it has large investments with the Morgan Bank, the Chase-Manhattan Bank, and the First National Bank of New York, the Bankers Trust Company, and others.
The Vatican has billions of shares in the most powerful international corporations such as Gulf Oil, Shell, General Motors, Bethlehem Steel, General Electric, International Business Machines, T.W.A., etc. At a conservative estimate, these amount to more than 500 million dollars in the U.S.A. alone.
In a statement published in connection with a bond prospectus, the Boston archdiocese listed its assets at $635,891,004. This is 9.9 times its liabilities. This leaves a net worth of $571,704,953. It is not difficult to discover the truly astonishing wealth of the church, once we add the riches of the twenty-eight archdioceses and 122 dioceses of the U.S.A., some of which are even wealthier than that of Boston.
Some idea of the real estate and other forms of wealth controlled by the Catholic Church may be gathered by the remark of a member of the New York Catholic Conference, namely that his church probably ranks second only to the United States Government in total annual purchase. Another statement, made by a nationally syndicated Catholic priest, perhaps is even more telling. 'The Catholic Church,' he said, 'must be the biggest corporation in the United States. We have a branch office in every neighborhood. Our assets and real estate holdings must exceed those of Standard Oil, A.T.&T., and U.S. Steel combined. And our roster of dues-paying members must be second only to the tax rolls of the United States Government.'
The Catholic Church, once all her assets have been put together, is the most formidable stockbroker in the world. The Vatican, independently of each successive pope, has been increasingly orientated towards the U.S. The Wall Street Journal said that the Vatican's financial deals in the U.S. alone were so big that very often it sold or bought gold in lots of a million or more dollars at one time.
The Vatican's treasure of solid gold has been estimated by the United Nations World Magazine to amount to several billion dollars. A large bulk of this is stored in gold ingots with the U.S. Federal Reserve Bank, while banks in England and Switzerland hold the rest. But this is just a small portion of the wealth of the Vatican, which in the U.S. alone, is greater than that of the five wealthiest giant corporations of the country. When to that is added all the real estate, property, stocks and shares abroad, then the staggering accumulation of the wealth of the Catholic Church becomes so formidable as to defy any rational assessment.
The Catholic Church is the biggest financial power, wealth accumulator and property owner in existence. The Vatican is a greater possessor of material riches than any other single institution, corporation, bank, giant trust, government or state of the whole globe. The pope, as the visible ruler of this immense amassment of wealth, is consequently the richest individual of the twentieth century. No one can realistically assess how much he is worth in terms of billions of dollars.
I really don’t think you have much to worry about, do you? I mean in terms of innocent Catholic at least. There is little chance that the Vatican wishes to harm its American investments, or the simple people who innocently serve its cause, that of its Illuminati brethren and the establishment of a New World Order. Now THAT is what you need fear, my friend.

Although much has been made of the withholding of communion from Catholic politicians who don't disavow pro-choice politics, the Catholics who have the most clout in the US government are at odds with the Vatican on several important issues, notably foreign policy and most other social programs. Their uncritical advocacy of liassez-faire capitalism, their evisceration of the social safety net (from healthcare to workers' rights), their disinterest in addressing the problem of violence in society and their indirect promotion of mindless consumerism have been condemned by the Vatican many times.
American Catholics in general have been strong supporters of the wall between church and state, a result of past experience in a strongly Protestant America. John Kennedy was grilled about his loyalties when he ran for president in 1960, but no one cares now. Baptists and Mormons seem more of a concern to some people.
Much as the Vatican honchos might dream of establishing a political beachhead somewhere in the world (They've been losing ground in Italy, Spain and Portugal lately), they've been aware that they are primarily a spiritual realm ever since they lost the Papal States. Over the past quarter century the Vatican has worked successfully to replace retiring progressive bishops with consevative ones, but they can't do much about the laity. It is what it is, quite American.
Priests are discouraged from active politics and it is considered bad form to conduct worldly intiative drives and voter registration drives in the narthex after Mass. Catholics who do get involved in politics are a very mixed bag. The ones who match the current administration's politics get the most attention, but that's not the Vatican's doing. They are following their own lights. A political change could very well swap the ins and the outs.

Oh, c'mon. I thought this kind of baiting was over with the Nixon-Kennedy days.
"please tell me why Catholics have today such huge political power in the US administration"
Give me a break. If the Vatican had any influence on this administration, we would not be in Iraq. Pope John-Paul II called the war in Iraq a "defeat for hummanity", and spoke out against it repeatedly. Does it look to you like that message had "huge political power" with this administration?
It is not the Catholics that are the danger, it is evangelical *Protestant* Christians like Bush himself. And I am being very careful not to lump all Protestants under the same banner (unlike your lumping of all Catholics under the same banner).

Catholics are not citizens of the Vatican. It is more of a problem that an Anglican, whose head is the Queen becomes President.

Wow, back on the Catholic paranoia trip, are we? This is an old one. In the last couple hundred years or so, the Vatican hasn't taken over the US, and I haven't seen great moves that it's about to do so, so frankly, I'm not real worried about this. Seems like you'd be more productive worrying about something REALISTIC.
BTW, "The DaVinci Code" is all made-up s**t.

Generally speaking there should be no clash between Christian belief and alliegence to the state. When there has been, historically, it has been more often the state that was wrong.
eg Hitler, Hiroshima, invasion of Iraq, etc.
Most Christians passionately believe in separation of Church and state.
In the UK how I long for disestablishment.

The exact words of the eternal head of the Catholic Church:
Mat 22:18 But Jesus knowing their wickedness, said: Why do you tempt me, ye hypocrites?
Mat 22:19 Shew me the coin of the tribute. And they offered him a penny.
Mat 22:20 And Jesus saith to them: Whose image and inscription is this?
Mat 22:21 They say to him: Caesar's. Then he saith to them: Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and to God, the things that are God's.

Catholics have political influence because they have money and power. You could be a Satan worshipper and do the same. Given the number of papal visits with presidents and open declarations about how its members should vote, it's quite obvious that the Catholic church fully intends to try and interfere with the U.S. political process too.

The Catholics show very little joint power over the US government. The biggest lobby that influences the government is the people of the bible belt. They are very unified in their Conservatism.
