Jesus to His disciples:
...there are some of those who are standing here who shall not taste death until they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom. (Mt.16:27,28)
Jesus to His twelve apostles:
...you shall not finish going through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man comes. (Mt.10:23)
The revelation of Jesus Christ communicated through John to His bond-servants:
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must shortly take place... (Rv.1:1)
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him...(Rv.1:7)
I am coming quickly... (Rv.3:11)
...I am coming quickly. (Rv.22:7)
Behold, I am coming quickly... (Rv.22:12)
Yes, I am coming quickly. (Rv.22:20)
Jesus consistently maintained He would return a second time within His own generation. As expected, the disciples preached the same throughout the known world.

No, Jesus didn't lie. No, we have not missed Him.
A day is like a thousand years, a thousand years is yet a day to the LORD. Therefore we could very well be in the 7th day/7000 years.

Dark: You present some faulty theology here. Where you go wrong is assuming that Jesus Christ was saying that He would at the time, within His own generation, return to the earth. Christ was making reference to an age [period of time to come] not a generational measure, as you have stated. Notice you have written, quoting the prophetic Book of Revelation of the New Testament re: " I am coming quickly". Notice "coming" ! - This prophetic letter was written by John the Apostle in his exile to the Isle of Patmos, Greece about 90 - 100 A.D. - long after Christ was murdered and rose from the dead. The terminology "comING" not the past tense of "have come". Ages or periods of time contain many generations, like the pre-flood age before Noah. Christ was addressing the age to come when He will clean up the mess man has left on the earth, create a new heaven and new earth - all to occur at His return to the earth. NO - Jesus did not lie nor did we "just miss Him" !!!

Matthew 16:27-28 Verse 27 speaks of the second coming of Christ. In order to encourage His disciples to keep a heavenly perspective, Jesus promises to demonstrate a glimpse of His second coming to some of them. This promise was fulfilled in the Transfiguration (Matt. 17:1-8)
Matthew 10:23 this passage (verses 17-23) are about the tribulation, in which case the Second Coming of Christ is in view....
Revelation 1:7 This is a guarantee that Jesus IS coming again, both literally and physically. There are 317 other promises of His coming again. It is mentioned more frequently than any other topic in the Bible, other than salvation. Jesus Will return and it will be quickly....and unfortunately too many people will not be ready and they will cry out and it will be to late. Many have mentioned His second coming....prophets, apostles, angels, and even Jesus himself..
No, Jesus did not lie...He DOES NOT lie and no we haven't missed Him......I just pray more people will turn to Him before they do miss Him.

Jesus did not lie. Within a very short time after his crucifixion, Jesus did reappear in his new body. This was the transfiguation just prior to him going to heaven. He was seen by a number of his disciples at this time. For the facts on the second coming, turn to Matt 24 beginning in verse 3. Here Jesus is asked the direct question...when will you return and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? I am not going to quote the whole answer to you (you can read it for yourself as I assume you have a Bible). And you are correct about one thing, many of the diciples did preach that Jesus would return soon. But then, at first they thought his kingdom was going to be an earthly one and that he was actually going to be the king of their land. Wrong on both counts. I believe only a couple of the original diciples actually "got it" They were the ones who went on to carry the message to the world."

As someone who was a extremely devout catholic and someone who was going to seminary to become a priest, I can answer that easily, however i am now an athiest because of what i learned, so I will give you an honest answer. The Bible as we know it, was not written until many many years after Jesus' death. The gospels are attributed to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, but even the Catholic church will reluctantly recognize that these people were probably already dead when they were written. The stories in the new testament were passed down from person to person until they were written down. Much like the childhood game of telephone, stories can get very misquoted after going through several people who each add a little to the story. The Bible was written for the people that lived at that particular space in time, not for people thousands of years later. All they knew is what they had heard and possibly seen at that time. Most if not all of Jesus' followers believed that he would come back in their lifetime, something still believed today. it just gives people something to hope in. Also, the Bible, especially the book of Revelations, was not meant to be taken literally. it is merely an allegorical story much like a fable or a childhood fairy tale in which fantastic events happen to capture the listeners attention in order to convey an idea, usually to do good or bad things would happen. Also, the Bible we have today was completely edited by several people throughout the years, most notably by King James, who was a protestant, as all English monarchs are, and he didn't like the catholic version, the Douey-Rhames, and took out what he didn't like. So my point is, you are free to believe in whatever or whomever, but the Bible is a book written by humans who lived hundreds of years after the events took place and as such contains many ideas that aren't relevant today.

Jesus defeated death. He was crucified, buried and rose from death on the third day.He appeared before his desciples before he was ascended to heaven. An angel appeared and said the same Jesus will come the same way he has gone and every eye shall see him.Although we miss his physical presence we are contented with the holy spirit he brought to us after he ascended to heaven. Those who will be saved are those who will stay in holy spirit until last days.

Prophet Jesus told the truth. He will return before the Day of Judgement.
Yes, the Prophet of Allah Jesus son of Mary (peace be upon him) will descend at the end of time and judge among the people with justice, following the Law of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He will break the crosses and kill the swine. HE shall put an end to the payment of the jizya. He will only accept Islam from the people. The People of the Book, the Jews and Christians, will all believe in him before his death, after he descends at the end of time. Allah has stated, "There is none of the People of the book but must believe in him (as only a Messenger of Allah) before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection, he (Jesus) will be a witness against them." [an-Nisa, 4:159]

He died and rose again on the third day. That is when they saw him again. Not refering to the second coming, but his resurrection.
