xp win. can not instal the audio controler and driver for audio device on my PC's motherboard.I need to know what kind motherboard I have so I can get the driver for it. in sytem info it says "system model:Km266-8235,and manufaturer is Micro-star international co."

go to www.pcwizard.com and download their tool. Its small file and free. When you use it, it will pop up a window with just about everythng you need to know about your hardware, including motherboard info.

Yes Microstar is a MB Manufacturer, but have you sought out that model number on line and checked if you have the same one visually? You need to, otherwise the only real way to check is off of the motherboard itself by pulling it. I always note the model number before I install the board.

your sound is most likely VIA, look for VIA chipset on mobo. on the via chip will tell u what version it is...such as KM266

then go to www.soundcard-drivers.com

I bet I've found your motherboard's audio driver, just check my reference.
