Hi there. This will depend on various different things such as which operating system, what kind of content, etc. We'll take Windows as a hypothetical situation here. Generally speaking, I create folders from the Desktop level for content I download off the internet. On the desktop, I have a folder called "iContent" which is my holding tank for the downloads. From there, I yank the content out to the respective location. If the content is a document, pdf or text of some sort, it goes into My Documents or a subfolder within My Documents depending on the type. I have a Manuals folder within My Documents that is then categorized beneath via operating system type, i.e. linux, windows, macintosh, etc. If the content is media, I place the pics within My Pictures. I then categorize within My Pictures for further organization. If it's video, I have a subfolder under My Pictures called "Videos" and so forth.
Hope this helps,

You will have to be more specific. I don't know if this is a poll to figure out how I organize my files and folders. Or if you want to figure out how to organize your own files and folders. It really depends on the type of organization that you are seeking. I usually use the pre-created folders to store my music, photos, and documents. But then I usually create subfolders that divide my music by artist, my photos by date/time/location, and my documents by work or school and class. I hope that this somewhat helps. Oh and I absolutely hate desktop clutter, so I either sort everything on my desktop into one of my specified folders, or I delete it.
