Office XP sp3 yes, XP pro sp3 not yet.

Though Microsoft still won't confirm that it will release a third service pack for its Windows XP operating system, a preview version of the software update has been made available on the Web.

An "unofficial" preview pack of Windows XP Service Pack 3 is available at The Hotfix, a software download site and discussion forum that focuses on patches and software updates.

beware of fake sp3. i found some installation cd claiming to be the sp3. sometimes referred as platinum edition (the sp2 is the gold edition). i checked the difference. it is not the real release from microsoft, only some stuff removed and added (common files intact, unused stuff excluded from installation) and skin that gives vista look to the system. i don't know what difference does the "sp3" make to the computer. if you buy it with high price like the original sp2, sp1, then it is a waste of money. if the cd costs just a fraction of the original one, then you're on the "safe" side (money-wise), at least you don't pay 100% for it. 50% is still way too much.

what i noticed is, while everything looks like polished version of sp2 (the vista look especially), it crashes more often. i'm not really sure if it has something to do with the genuineness of the software (i know it's a pirated copy) but most computers running on pirated copies of sp2 works well, more stable than the sp3 (pirate). the sp3 computers i know have been formatted 2-3 times more than the sp2 (pirate). if you have bought the sp3 (pirate) and it crashes more often, just drop that one and get anything that works more stable (sp2, sp1) and apply skins for the vista look, unload some unused stuff to free up the system (that is what the sp3 do for you, automatically). the person who customized the sp3 even put his name in it (check the "system" properties at the control panel). the one i found has mitsubishi lancer's wallpaper and login interface. a friend's computer is corrupted (i'm not sure if this is the proper term for it), he reformatted the computer, but the lancer image is plastered to the screen at startup (partially, with colors inverted). it brings no harm (as far as i know) but it is not pleasant to look at. installing using a different copy does nothing to it (we tried installing sp2, sp3, nothing works).

sorry if this doesn't answer your question at all. but i really hope this info to be useful to anybody who is considering getting a pirated sp3.
