this week alone she has eaten a bra, a check book, some take-out menus, my glasses, and an empty prescription bottle she took out of my friends purse who was sitting 2 feet away from her. then tonight she was walking in front of me and just squated and peed on the floor. she had been out not even 2 hours earlier and KNOWS to ask to go out. she's about 8 months old and this has just started in the past few weeks. what gives? even at the dog park she's being a little brat to the other dogs. she used to be so sweet!!!

she never used to take stuff off the table, ever, you could leave her treats there and she wouldnt take them. and the thing is, her treats WERE sitting on the table next to the rest of the stuff she ate!! so its like she actually went after the stuff she knows wasnt hers! she has plenty of toys, i just dont know what her problem is lately

She's still a PUPPY. She is also probably experiencing something equivalent to the human teen years. Reinforce all routines you have established. Positve reinforcement is essential. Remember, it takes 2 years for a dog to truly mature. Expect behavioral setbacks. Evaluate the real issue behind the behavior. And make sure she has something to chew on as an alternative to your things. Puppies NEED to chew. A lot. Last, but not least, a busy and engaged puppy is a more well-behaved puppy.

maybe she continues to act like a brat because she knows she can get away with it.

or it might be because she sees you as someone who takes away things she wants, not someone who gives her things. When you give her a treat, hold the treat in your hand and have her eat it straight out of your hand (not from off the floor or anything). do the same thing with some of her toys. praise her all during this. this reinforces the fact that you directly give her thigns that she likes, and you're not there to take everything away.

Could be health issues and I would have her cleared by the vet but if nothing is physically wrong my best bet would be puberty. You need to train her and try to occupy her mind. If that doesn't work I would suggest you enlist the help of a local trainer to help you work through these issues. Try to remember that she is still a puppy and hasn't matured mentally yet.

Good luck

Dog needs more walking. The dog is bored and need to walk more. Have you ever watched the Dog Whisperer? He recommends walking and walking dogs that are high energy, also walking is good for you too.
