Yes I think you are a bit to young. No it cannot and should not be numbed. Any reputable piercer trying to use numbing creams or injected anesthetic should be avoided. All piercings hurt, that's just how it is. The tongue tends to be one of the worst because of the swelling after wards which makes it very difficult to eat and talk until you adjust to getting the piercing. Other tips, keep it clean, don't clank the jewelry against your teeth and at the first sign of gum, tooth or other oral damage, consult a piercer about different jewelry options or remove the piercing.

You're not going to get it numbed. And you'd miss the entire point of piercing if you avoid the pain part of it. Not to mention, if you can't feel if something is being done incorrectly, you won't have a clue until your tongue gets infected.

But if you want my personal opinion. Yes, i think you're too young. If you're asking such a simple question like that, it's clear that you haven't bothered to seriously research this and aren't making a mature decision. I get the impression you're doing it for the novelty, and really... it's not that worth it anyways .

well make sure you eat before you get it pierced!! So you don't feel like fainting or so and because you can't really eat after you get it pierced because it'll be swollen. You cant exactly get your tongue pierced but i know you can get your belly. You're not too young at all... most of my friends got it when they we're 13 and stuff. It hurts but not soo mcuh that you can't take it. Use listerine [ mouthwash] so you can clean it and etc. Where i got my piercings they made me drink a can of soda after i got it pierced. If you want it that badly then don't be scared! It'll be worth it in the end! Hope this helped you !!

I got my tongue pierced when I was 17. It didn't hurt that bad when he actually pierced me, but I do recommend closing your eyes so you don't see the needle. They didn't use anything to numb it. The first few days of healing can be kind of painful, but nothing unbearable. I've had mine for five years now, and I still love it! So the temporary pain is well worth it.

well I personally think that you're to young but the decision lies in you. I am saying this because I have had my tongue pierced twice and it's something that I got tired of both times so think long and hard before you actually get it.

Why would it hurt to have a hole punched through an organ that you need for speech and taste? I'm sure you won't have to worry about an infection or permanent numbness either. Why, it hardly every happens. Just once in awhile.

Personally I think it's a bit trashy. What's the point other than maybe some S***ual gratification for HIM. Infection and speech impediment........Give it up - get over it.
Too young now anyway, you're only doing it cause you think it's cool......You won't look "cool". But if you do it, then enjoy the food particles that will form around it.

Yep. I think you're too young. But besides that, I've heard that there are problems with teeth now. Dentists say it can lead to chipping and cracking, I think.

I once wanted it badly, too, but it went away, and I'm pretty glad I didn't, because of my friends horror stories.

No offense, but what's the purpose of it? In my opinion it looks trashy, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be rude but I don't think it looks appropriate on any girl any age. Why don't you get you navel pierced instead? That's a little sexier then a tongue ring. But hey it's your decision.
PS: If you're considering a job anytime soon, it won't help;)
