My FAITH is sealed in Jesus Christ. Nothing could change my FAITH. There are a lot of articles being written about Jesus not being who He is... its all trash.. because we know that in the latter days there will be many to come forth trying to discredit the Bible and the truth that is within the covers. The more that comes out trying to say the Bible is not what it is, makes me turn closer to God, the triune Godhead. If I'm wrong about what I believe, I have lost nothing. If I'm right and you are wrong about you believe in whatever, you have lost much.
This board is just one of many that has tried to discredit God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. All those that have participated in trying to trash God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are just showing what the Bible tells us will come to pass. They are fulfilling prophecy whether they believe it or not.

I would feel curious like John the Baptist. He's seen declaring about Jesus "behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world". Awhile later, when he is in prison, he sends people to Jesus, to ask Him "are you the One?" [paraphrase]. Jesus comforted John and told the messengers to "tell him the lame walk, the blind see"...and He said other things too.
To me, I trust in the God of the Bible because the Bible has never been proved wrong. Plus there are so many prophecies that have came true and will come true. The Bible has been far ahead of science for a very long time. E-mail me if you want some examples (because I could go on for a very long time on that subject).
To stop the followers of Jesus, all people had to do was show His dead body, but He resurrected and is in Heaven right now.
If we look at the lives of the Apostles before they saw Him resurrected, they were scared, doubtful, and easily shaken...I mean they went back to their old lives when they knew Jesus was dead.
After they saw Him resurrected, they had unshakeable faith to the point where many of them were put in prison many times, were beaten, and even died for spreading the truth about Jesus and the way to Heaven.
I was raised all religious and it was boring. I came to have a relationship with Jesus, where He put His Holy Spirit in me like 2 Corinthians 5:17 and John 3:3 talk about and I will never be the same...just like the Apostles. =)
Like the Bible says, "let God be true and every man a liar". I trust in His Word, not stuff that comes and goes. Like Jesus said, "Heaven and earth will pass away but My word will endure forever."

I can't imagine any news that would make me question my faith. I don't know if it is the same for all Christians, but faith is not really what I have. My first steps toward God were perhaps based on a kind of faith (believing something that can not be proven) but once my relationship with Him was established, I changed on the inside. I don't mean that I deliberately changed who I was or what I was doing. (I've always been a pretty nice person with good ethics and values) I am talking about something physically/spiritually happening. I actually sensed the Holy Spirit within me and it is still there today. I have tried to explain this dozens of times to people, even members of my own family. The only thing I can really tell them is if I could somehow transfer this sense of being with God to them for even a few minutes, they would fight me to death to prevent me from taking it back. I know this sounds really weird. If someone had told me that before it happened to me I would not have believed them either. It is not a matter of believing in God...it is a matter of being with him...He walks with me 24/7.

All I want to know is what is evidentally true. If I found new information that makes more sense than my current beliefs, I would just completely drop them. Why believe in that which cannot be supported, opposed to something that is supported with more evidence and such. I would feel a little disappointed, being wrong the whole time, but I would be much happier knowing that I'm closer to the truth.

I would feel empty if it were possible. But there is no "information" that could cause me to lose my faith. My faith is shaken all the time, but it is the result of my actions. My personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ is real and confirmed in my heart and soul. Unbelievers cannot understand this. Believers know exactly what I mean. I wish all could know the freedom that is in Christ Jesus.

My 'faith' is just that ... FAITH. I believe in God ... a triune God with three aspects or faces: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. It's like seeing a huge crevasse, several miles across that you have no way to get over ... but once you're there, you can see that it's just 'a line in the sand.'
What 'information' could force me to 'question' that? I suppose, if I lived long enough, that maybe someday someone will travel 'far enough' to perhaps 'meet a god' ... and if that 'god' could be 'proven' to me to be the TRUE GOD, and not the God I believe in now, then maybe I could 'question my faith' ... but otherwise, no 'truth' can be enough to make me lose it ... because it's FAITH, the ability to 'believe in something no-one can prove' ...

nellmc: As a Christian, I would have to answer that question with an answer based on my own, past experiences. The big one Evolution (Darwinism) is one of the few issues "on the market", which threaten many a Christian. Personally, it was Darwin (Evolution), which played a major part, in turning me in the direction of Christianity. Evolution caused me to meet the challenge concerning my atheistic views versus those of Christianity issues, in the "light" of science and history. For the sake of time and space, you can catch the gist of my response to Charles Darwin at The Center for Science and Culture web-page: www.dissentfromdarwin.org - I think that any Christian needs to stand prepared to search out the facts (not imagined ones), to solidify his or her stance in the faith. Oftentimes, there are answers to any question posed. Most of the time it requires patience, time, and proper research. When you come right down to it, most atheists ( I was "king" in this area ) would have to accept the proof- positive facts surrounding the evidence of a Creator, using the knowledge contained in Science, provided he or she is open-minded and not a victim of blind prejudice and mis-information. "Feelings" have no room under the scrutiny of objective proof and reasoning !

Been there many many years ago. So I didn't go to my home church for nearly two decades.
And I began to look towards other faiths or other spiritual beliefs that answered my questions.
Most religions have the basic tenets in common , it's the dogma that gets in the way.

That already happened to me several times as a former Christian. I felt very alienated at first, but feel liberated and closer to the true God now than I ever did as a Christian. There is something with that religion that just ain't right. Many things, actually.

This happened to me before. I felt a bit lost and then I figured out what I believed and went for it. I lost my family over it. No regrets though. Now I feel peace.
