My boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment and I'm trying to decide where to place our bed. He is a Kun (#2, Earth) and I am a Dui (#7, Metal). Right now our bed is on the east wall because thats the only open wall without a window, door or closet on it, but east is the fourth worst direction for him to sleep pointed in and the absolute worst for me to sleep pointed in. The only good direction I can place the bed in for either of us is in the North East corner, which is his most favorable direction (meaning the fourth best direction for him to sleep pointing towards) and my second most favorable direction (the third best for me to sleep pointing towards). However, I also understand that it is bad to place the head of your bed in a corner. Which is worse, sleeping in a terrible direction for both of us against a flat wall, or sleeping in a slightly better direction for both of us but against a corner?

make the corner into a cabinet to fill out the gap - you'd have extra storage, a good headboard and wall for support.

Hi this is something that I come across often and many couples have the extra dilemma of one who is in the East Group and one in the West group! You both are in the same West Group

Feng Shui needs to be closely associated to beauty and practicality. With the positive orientations we cannot always use these in our bedroom due to the layout of the room and I always advise to my clients that the layout needs to be practical over an above placement of the bed to our positive orientations.

For example: if you walk into the bedroom and the bed is placed to a positive orientation but the way it sits in the room looks really odd, how does that make you feel? If it gives you a bad feeling or doesn't look right, then this will add to negative feng shui. You won't feel right sleeping that way and this will ultimately affect your sleeping patterns and possibly relationships also!

Place the bedhead against a solid wall, preferably not backing onto a window and ensure that when you lay on the bed you have a good view of the door to the room. Ensure you have lots of pillows, soft pastel colours and evaluate the colour, light and smell to ensure that these areas don't challenge the senses.

I have seen a bed against a corner however it would be better to have a straight wall behind the bed. You could place a board or hang curtain to give the appearance of a straight wall behind the bed if you wish.

Ensure you have a couple of lovely photos of yourselves hanging or on the bedside table as this will add to the ambience of the room.

For you both I would also suggest a little of the colour yellow or brown in the room as this is a supportive colour for your Kua numbers.

Hope this helps, I wish you good health abundant wealth and lasting happiness!

a corner would not only be bad for arrow chi, but would also divide the two of you as an overhead beam, if I'm not mistaken. Is there any way to place your bed on a wall with the door or window that is not in line with the bed? If not try using a crystal to counter the bad

Wow, that's a lot of information! I have always understood that you should sleep with your feet towards the bedroom door. Your window should face east, and be sure not to cover any vents with furniture. Hang an eagle feather on the west wall.

The best position for your bed is in a north-south direction or a south -north direction to achieve a unanimous harmony for the both of you. Believe in an harmonious self being and calmness and all your cares and worries together with a true compassion for each other will eventuate. Trust me.

Have you considered the possibility that feng shui dictates that you should sleep in different apartments?

Put it where you won't have to climb over it to get to the bathroom, and wait until you can afford to build a house.
