Chexsystems is not a government entity. It is private bad-check clearing house used by banks. You can write them and add a statement to your Chexsystems record.

Only about 90% of banks report to Chexsystems. You may be able to open an account at one of the non-member banks.

Good Luck

Have you notified the police of your ex's behavior.
If not then I dont blame the bank for putting you on checksystems.
They dont really care much about the relationship between you and your now exboyfriend so dont take it personal, they just want their money.
If you werent on Checksystems would you even care if the boyfriend did this?
Now that the bank has your attention, they can use what they have to help you to get them their money back.
Dont be mad at the bank, be mad at the ex...
then use that anger to get even.
If he used your bank account without your permission, that is fraud and he might be facing some serious charges depending on the amount he took from you. WHy not send him a letter or call him and try to discuss it with him.
Give his a few days to come up with the money (doubt he will) then call the police and file a report.

Get an attorney. Open an account at another bank and ask the government to transfer the direct deposit to the other bank.

It is the writer of the check (government) who reroutes the deposit, not the bank.
