About 20 yeas ago, in my Kenmore microwave cookbook, (which i dont have anymore) there was a recipe for I think cruncy toffie bars? It had oats, granola, corn syrup, i believe molasass and melted chocotate chips on the top. Then you refridgerated it, I dont remember what else, but it was so easy to make and delicious. If any one has an old kenmore microwave book, or remembers this recipe please let me know.

I don't know if this is the exact recipe, but it sounds very close to what you want, from www.cooks.com . You also should check used book stores for the old Kenmore cookbooks. These are common and often very inexpensive. Abe Books online has several copies for as little as a dollar plus shippin at the following link:
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?y=10&tn=kenmore+microwave+cookbook&x=57

The recipe:

MICROWAVE SCOTCH TOFFEE BARS

1/3 c. butter, melted
2 c. quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate morsels
1/4 c. dark corn syrup
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. nuts, chopped

Combine butter, oats, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and salt in bowl. Press firmly against bottom of 8 x 8 inch or 9 x 9 inch microwave safe dish.
Bake in microwave oven on full power for 3 to 4 minutes in 8 x 8 inch pan, or until bubbling all over. Turn dish once during cooking time. Smooth surface. Top with chocolate morsels.

Heat in microwave oven on Level 6 (roast) for 1 minute, or until chocolate morsels are melted. Spread chocolate evenly over bottom crust. Sprinkle with nuts. Chill. Cut into bars. Store in airtight container in refrigerator. Yield: 12 bars.

I don't know abt the Kenmore Recipe
But here's one you can try.
Good Luck :)

Toffee Bars

INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 (14 ounce) can Sweetened Condensed Milk EAGLE BRAND®(NOT evaporated milk)
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Additional chopped walnuts (optional)

DIRECTIONS

Preheated oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 13x9-inch baking pan. In large mixing bowl, combine 6 tablespoons margarine, oats, sugar, flour, 1/2 cup walnuts (optional) and baking soda. Press firmly on bottom of pan. Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Meanwhile, in medium saucepan, over medium heat, combine remaining 2 tablespoons margarine and EAGLE BRAND®. Cook and stir until mixture thickens slightly, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. Pour evenly over baked crust. Return to oven; bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until golden brown.

Remove from oven; immediately sprinkle chips on top. Let stand 1 minute; spread while still warm. Garnish with additional walnuts; press down firmly.

Cool. Cut into bars.

Store tightly covered at room temperature.
