Oh dear god, don't do it. I've had Dome monofibre extensions, human hair, and everything in between. If you are picky about your appearance, don't do it. There will be days when you have to wear a hat or a scarf over your head until your hairdresser can get you into the salon. It's so much maintenance it will drive you insane.

They pull on your scalp, you can't wear it up in a ponytail when you work out or are hot, you have to baby it and use all these special hair accessories to just get it off your neck.

Then there's the cost. They are expensive to put in and very expensive to maintain. To take out the loose ones and put in new ones was $600. To put in a full head is around $800. It's very expensive. And it takes several HOURS to even have a few loose ones replaced.

If you color your hair you are in for a real nightmare because you can color your roots with some types of extensions but not others, so keep that in mind.

I had the itchiest head, felt like my scalp was never clean and it was a nightmare to even sleep at night with all that crap on my head.

So, I vote no. No extensions. Save your money, take vitamins and eat right so your hair grows. Love what you have- don't focus on what you think you're missing.

yes, they're tacky. especially if people you know very well know that you have short hair and all of a sudden the next day it's extremely long.

1) hair extensions aint just for black people
2) hair extentions are niether tacky nor noticeable if you get them done at a good salon...it's like getting your hair done anywhere else. you go to the person who knows what he/she is doing

no but just as long as they are not to cheap ( as they can look really tacky and fake) and make sure they are applied properly.
