Hi everyone,
I am thinking about joining the Army Reserves and want to know if it is worth joining. Do they actually give you money they promise at the time you sign up?

I joined the reserves after i was in active duty. Yes they have to give you the money they promise if it is your contract. If it is writing then you will get it.

I am in the Army National Guard. It is the best decision I ever made for myself. As for enlistment bonuses, Read your contract. Some bonuses pay half after basic and half after four years. Some are lump sum. Check with your recruiter and READ YOUR CONTRACT.

I'm in the reserves, I didn't get any money but many people I know did. No you don't get it when you sign up but after your BCT and your AIT after your AIT you are elegible for all of your benefits.

When you go to MEPs, and are signing all you contract paperwork, make sure that you get everything in writing. If you get that done, you'll be straight.
