The one closest to my house, 150 ft. away.

Amtrak and Metrolink (commuter) horns seem to be quieter than the freight trains, at least that's my experience in the 8-1/2 years we've lived here.

very loud. probably greater than 150 decibels. it has to be heard over a mile away.
