If your son or daughter is in the Marine Corps, go to MarineParents.com and sign on to their message boards. You will meet people who's sons and daughters are also in boot camp, and it WILL help you. You'll feel like you've found something to which you can cling for a bit, until you grow accustomed to life with a son or daughter in the military. The folks there REALLY DO understand, and want to help you through it. When my son left, I cried for 3 days, until I found the site. Then I cried WITH OTHER PEOPLE until I got his first letter home from boot.

I have never heard of a similar site for the other branches of the military.

No, it is actually an honor. What would break my heart is if we got a draft and then people would go involuntarily. This way I know that they went because they wanted to serve their country, rather than because some Democrat from N.Y. wanted to reinstate the draft.

In those pics, there is alot of kids who are happy to see the soldiers. The women feed the soldiers. he also said there's alot of places like McDonalds popping up.
