There's this person who I think has inferiority complex, and yet at times she seems so cold, proud and confident. Can this be, in any way, a facade she uses to hide her inferiority? Or do people with inferiority complex appear obviously inferior, shy, and unconfident?

Yes, somebody could do that, it's called self-aggrandizement.

I learned that in General Psychology.

That's based on Adlerian Theory, but it's pretty old fashioned stuff. I read psychiatric and psychological reports everyday as part of my job, and I haven't seen those words used in a clinical setting in my 20 years of experience.

It's based on the Psychoanalytical style of treatment, some people might still go through that, but it pretty much fell out of favor in the 1950 and 60s after they found out mental illness could be treated with medication.

People with an inferiority complex can go to both extremes, shy and quiet and also put up that facade that they are confidant to try and hide the fact that they feel inferior

I have an inferiority complex and I don't show it at all. I seem warm and nice but very confident but inside I tell myself the worst things ever. I hate myself. My sister feels inferior too and when she is with other people she is like the girl you said.

They sure can. There are many actors that are extremely shy and have problems communicating. Its the same situation. What someone is like on the outside might not match how they feel about themselves within.

Maybe she's just upset.. the coldness is her going back into her self and she's trying to ignore it all? Maybe she's trying to work on making herself better and proving that she's better than what her mind is telling her.. she's working on healing, I think.
