If the dog is already, individually registered, the current owner of the dog needs to sign the back of the current registration in order to complete the transfer. If you just have the registration form & not the completed single registration certificate, you should be able to,fill it out, sign it, and, either send in it in by mail (with proper fee , of course) or you may be able to do it online. Go to AKC.org & all the information you need for the registration process is fully explained I suspect that the breeder may have given you the blue registration FORM and not the completed individual registration certificate ( which is entirely different) for that individual dog... so check it out first...and then proceed from there.

Youll have to contact the lady and get her to get a transfer paper. Only she can do this. Then you get the transfer papers and send them in and presto your done

Go to www.akc.org. There are instructions there. There are also instructions on the back of the registration form that the former owner provided to you.
