Contrary perhaps to certain people's beliefs, Israel has no intention of building (rebuilding) the temple. Of the people who do want the temple to be rebuilt, the vast majority believe that this can only occur miraculously in the time of the messiah. Whenever that happens, the temple will be rebuilt.

G-d willing, when the messiah comes and tells us the time is right.
And miraculously, as we were told, the nations (UN) have accepted the Jewish state. To Jews, the rebirth of Jewish settlement, along with the awful holocaust, and recognition from the nations of the world-->are signs of redemption.
But don't worry, we won't start building the temple yet (unless we wanted to start WW3).

Mark&Michael, I don't think you understand what you're talking about. *Athough they keep Judaism, Neturei Karta are a fanatic sect and have distanced themselves by their behavior to their fellow Jews. They are a very small number (thank goodness...) *Perhaps the majority of Israelis aren't religious, but they do believe in redemption.

When God judges it is the right time to do so.

My only hope is that it should happen quickly and with no bloodshed.

That book says they will, but I hope I am not around if it is true. I do not wish to be judged and found wanting.
