Federal Constitutional Republic.

I Pledge Alligience to the Flag of The United States of America, and to the Republic for which it Stands. One Nation, under God, Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All.

Republic--a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.

We have let our government do the opposite. We have let our government come from the leaders to the people and the present leaders have let those few with enormous wealth control the destiny of America.
Troubled times are ahead if we do not stand together as a free people and once again return the government to the people and once again become The Republic our forefathers fought hard to establish.

An extremely corrupt one governed by the richest families of the country! Buttercup? The best in the world? Obviously you have never been out of the country! So many naive people who just can't seem to focus beyond their nose!
If people don't soon get a "SPINE" and do something about what's going on in this country behind closed doors, you will be a victim of your own ignorance!
Have someone explain to you how "corporate America" sets up all those fictitious corporations to play a paper game and avoid taxation! It's mind boggling to say the least! Those same corrupt BAST@RDS are running the country! It is no longer a democracy of "The People"!

it's weird because i've just started U.S. Government.

Ok so usually we just say it's a Democracy. The best way I could describe it would be a Representative Democracy (people vote for representatives (like Congressmen and stuff) and then they vote for issues). Also it's a Federal Republic (or something like that) because the power is shared between the states and the federal government.

wikipedia says it's a "Federal Constitutional Government" (but they're not always entirely reliable)

In truth, it is still the very best government in the world.
Just go some other places and live awhile and you will soon
see this to be the truth. Also, read "Because They Hate" and
you'll see a gal who escaped from Lebanon, has legally
become an American citizen and tells her story about Muslims
and terrorists.....a true story. She tells why America is so great
and she should know as she lived thro Hell over there in
Lebanon by the Palestinians.

constitutional representative democracy.

dont confuse this with direct democracy in which everyone votes on all measures. the US electorate (or people who vote) elects representatives at the federal (Washington DC and Congress) and state level. the US also has Constitution, the supposed "highest law of the land." The powers of government are divided so that no one is too powerful. This is called "checks and balances." There is a President, legislative body (Congress), and judiciary system (courts and judges).

It's called a "dictatorship." That's when one person has an almost celebrity status and wields a lot of power. Usually dictators (the leader) have a strong desire to kill people in the present to get to an imaginary better future. Dictators have a knack of staying in power by persuading the public that they are exactly what their country needs.
