I purchased a Gateway laptop that has Windows Vista Home Premium edition on it. I confirmed this by looking in the system settings.

For some reason, however, the small sticker on the laptop's palm-rest (near the keyboard) says " Windows Vista Basic".

Did Gateway screw up and put the wrong goddamned sticker on the computer?

most likely, i wouldnt worry about it. if you have 1 Gb of memory or more it should have vista home premium or higher.

Microsoft is selling the Stickers.

Gateway might have felt that the price is not worth and might have stick the Basic Edition Sticker which is free.

I have read this in a Magzine.

I think you can google to find more info on this.
