My dog is usually very hyper and energetic but today she has been acting funny. She just keeps laying around and zoning out and she won't move at all. She moves her head but other than that she won't move. She can move she just won't. I layed out a biscuit and she usually hides them but she didn't touch them. I gave her some ice and she ate it then I gave her a little piece of cheese and she ate it too. I was just wondering what was wrong and if I should take her to the vet?

Shes very young only a little over a year. Im not sure what she could have eaten that I didn't see. I saw her eat her dog food and a piece of pizza crust earlier. She hasn't been like this all day just for the past couple hours...

If your dog had a vigorous workout/walk or play session it could be very stiff and sore and in enough pain it doesn't want to move. I suspect your dog will need to go to the vet to be checked out. When a dog that noramlly loves food takes hardly any notice of it you know it isn't feeling well. Keep an eye out for diarrhea and vomiting and if it stops drinking. If this happens take to the vet or animal hospital immediately. Not to frighten you, but if it is a large breed, there is always a risk of stomach turnover, which is very serious.

Sometimes they have a down days too...but just a couple of questions...what did she eat before she started acting different. Has she been able to go to the bathroom. Do you have a cat she could have come in contact with the litter box. If she acts like this tomorrow, than YES, take her to the vet. She could have a parasite that has affected her...Don't give her too much cheese that will block her from going to the bathroom. Keep making sure she is drinking water or ice chips...that is good. Don't try to force her to eat something..she will not starve herself. But, you do need to watch her..if she has any difficulty walking...if she keeps acting lethargic...take her to the vet.

if your pet acts differently or out of the ordinary-- something might be wrong, and yes taking her to the vet if she isnt normal by tommorrow would be good. More history questions are needed here to figure out the problem.
Can you take her temperature to see if she has a fever?? a rectal thermometer and some KY jelly or lubricate would be a good thing to check. if she has a fever-- at least it lets you know there IS a problem. Normal dogs temp is 100-102. If it is 104 and above- consider it a fever.
also check her gum color-- it should not be pale-- it should be pink.
also-- check her skin and mouth for dehydration. pinch the skin up-- it should normally snap back immediately and her mouth should be moist. If it is not she may be dehydrated.
just some tips-- but more history is really needed here,

I would take the dog to the vet right away, or at least the first thing in the morning. If you are going to wait, please keep an eye on her and if she gets worse, take her to the emergency vet in your area. Not moving and not eating are not good signs. It could be anything from poison to a bad tooth, but you should find out, because animals, particularly dogs, do not change their habits or behavior unless there is a good reason. It sounds like she is in distress, and you don't want her to be in pain or be sick.

There is no possible way to no what is wrong with your dog. There isn't enough details and we can't see the dog. That said if this continues until tomorrow you must go to the vet.
What you are describing is lethargy and could be symptoms of many illnesses and diseases. It could be depression for all we know. Your vet is the one who will be able to assess the dog and provide appropriate treatment.

He should be taken to the vet. He could have ear mites or an ear an infection, and as a result, he could be listening to "phantom sounds" that are inflicting a number of his unusual habit. Your vet could make a diagnosis and prepare you common procedures to prepare meds and flush the ear canal. (The canines ear canal is unlike yours, and there is something to evaluation.) Hydrogen peroxide won't remedy the two project!

I would take her to the vet just to be on the safe side. Pets are like small children, they can't tell you what's wrong. All you have to go on is how they act, if it's something out of the ordinary.

Yes, take her to get checked out. That is not normal for a dog to be so lifeless. I wonder if she ate something she wasn't supposed to!
