Am I allowed to or am I too young? I've hear that you either A) have to be 18 or older B)can be 16 (no younger)and have a parent with you and C) if you are under 18 have a parent with you. Is it diffrent for diffrent states and places?

you are correct. in every state you have to be 18 to get a tattoo without a parent's permission. some states allow 16 year olds to get tattoos with parental consent. but i have never heard of anywhere allowing a 13 year old to get tattooed. i definitely would not suggest getting one at your age. so much will change between now and when you're 18. i can't even imagine what i would have gotten when i was your age. i got my first three tattoos when i was 18 and i have just recently gotten tattoos that i love and am completely happy with. my first three tattoos were covered up last year by a good artist. i suggest that you think about it long and hard and save your money so you can get an awesome tattoo by an awesome artist.
a good artist is the most important thing in getting a tattoo.

Growing more aside ... you are too young to know what will happen to you in the future. States vary. A lot have gone to 18 or no tat if the shop is reputable. Some states will do a tattoo on a minor 16 years or older with a parent there to concent at the time of the tattoo. Call local tattoo shops and ask them what the state law on tattooing is, if you get the same answer from two or three then odds are that is the law. I suggest you wait a few more years and sleep on the idea. A good idea, and I did this, is draw out what you think you want and put it away some where. Next time you find it ask yourself if you still really want it on your body forever. And put it away again. If it changes then you'll know that you didn't want the first drawing after all. Taste changes as you get older so doing something you find cute now may not be so cute when you are 18 and want to get something else to cover it up. Wait a few years so that you can experience more of life, that will give you more of an idea of what is good for you and what you will regret. I've narrowed it down to three over time. A dragon Kanji for personal strength, straight edge X on my ankle to fight a family demon, and a sun dial to remember my children after I've had them. Give it some time, but yeah, go for it way later on!

In the United States, it is generally the same in all states. Your parent(s) have to be present and approve your decision but personally I think you are too young. At your age, it is simply a fad anyway you will grow out of it soon enough. If you can get your parents permission then its whatever but 13 being tatted up is a bit much. Enjoy your youth and simple mindness. Your life is probably close to stressless...when you turn 18 and want a tatoo go for it!

That is the smartest answer here.............girl, you are 13 years old. Trust me, you do not want to make the mistake of getting something on your body permanently that in a few years you will totally regret. Your interests now at the age of 13 will be completely different in 5 years when you're 18. Wait the 5 years, and then deside. I bet you ANYTHING that if you write down what it is you want to get done, when you later look at it you'll praise God you didn't go through with it.

You're too young, please don't do it. They're might be some shady places that'll do it for you despite your age, but they are unprofessional and you will regret it. I remember wanting a tattoo of the "nightmare before christmas" so badly when I was 16 (almost 17) and I would go crazy and yell at my mom and beg her to take me to a tattoo shop to get it done. But she said NO. And I'm so glad I waited because I would've regretted it so much. I am 19 now and I have one small tattoo of a cat on my hipbone area because I love cats. Trust me you will change your mind when you're older. Just wait until you're 18, if you still want that tattoo that you want now, then go for it in 5 years, but chances are that you would have changed your mind by then and you would've been happy that you waited!

Lemme tell ya, you will grow when you have kids. I have a fairy on my hip and after 2 kids it's looking a little odd. Make sure you get it in a place not likely to grow too much with pregnancy.
I think 18 or accompanied by a parent or guardian is pretty much the norm.

i could say wait.... while i became into 13 i needed a peace sign as a tattoo, lol, and that i could kill myself at present if i had a huge peace sign in my abdomen i'm 18 now and getting my first tattoo on my foot, something small, in simple terms because of the fact i'm nonetheless uncertain if i opt for human beings to work out it each and all of the time or no longer... yet i think of i'm sufficiently old now to settle on because of the fact i as a rule be responsive to that i'll love the tattoo as quickly as I grow old, and that's the biggest ingredient to me plus the regulation in maximum states or a minimum of in manhattan, you may desire to be 18 to get a tattoo, regardless in case you have a parental consent or no longer, they those days replaced the regulation, so no one under age can get a tattoo, with or with no make certain yet understanding your subject your possibly going to get one no count what absolutely everyone tells you at right here, so heres some suggestion, make it small, that way once you grow old and additionally you do no longer like it, it heavily isn't that noticeable, possibly this is a tiny action picture star in the back of your ear, or a small heart on your foot i continuously needed to get a toe ring tattooed on my foot think of properly however, a tattoo is perpetually *you in basic terms have 5 years left to attend : ), this provide you with time to discover the suited tattoo that easily could be very significant

the one major major downside to getting one so young is that you are most likely not done growing. it could very easily get distorted to the point of not knowing what it is any more by the time you graduate high school. this is why there are many tattoo artist who will not tattoo someone so young. but you will have to have your parents with you no matter what. ir is better to wait until you are done growing before you get a tattoo because your tattoo moves with you and grows with you. but it usually doesnt look right when it grows with you.
