If the water didn't smell like antifreeze and it wasn't "slippery" feeling it was a leak from either the windshield or cowel area. if it still has warranty I would take it to the dealer because leaks like that can contribute to early rust out and the carpet could get moldy and stinky.
If it was anti freeze most likely the heater core is leaking.
good luck......

It is NOT a heater core. Notice how it was raining outside? Its rain water getting into the car from around the base of the window and cowl area. There is a TSB that was recently released on this issue with the 2005+ mustangs. Take it to the dealership and have them solve the problem... Make sure they take care of the carpet before any mildew sets into the padding underneath it. Not all of the mustangs experience this problem.

i own a shop, and you either have a real bad leak from out side the vehicle or you got a heater core busted on it,if its a heater core ,the color of the water will not be clear it will have color to it,but this one is new enough that its covered under warranty,so why don't you just take it back to the dealer the repair will be free and not cost you anything,i wouldn't even be here asking a question about that new of a car, take it back and let the dealer repair it,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Most likely a heating core with a crack in it, or a heater hose with a leak. Those do run into your interior and under your dash. Look under the glove box and see if anything is wet under there. Usually a heater core or hose fix requires pulling the whole dash apart.

My dads car and my BMW had the same problem, when the water flies up into the air(after a puddle of water or normal driving)
it goes through the bottom of the car. look for any leaks, take it to a mechanic, you should have a warranty, or just take it to the FORD dealer.

Best bet is the heater core! second guess would be a bad seal on the door... depending on what the weather is like.
If the liquid has a sweet smell it means it is coolant, and you have a leakin coolant line or heater core.

I agree that it could be the heater core, but Fords have been known to have the catalyctic converters burn holes in the floorboards.

the heater is in the passenger footwell area of the car and it is filled with coolant. it that was the case you would have drivablity problems(overheating).
if it is rain water, most likely cause is a pluged drain in the cowl intake.

It's under warranty, take it in to the dealer and let him worry about it. Is it water or is it coolant leaking? Heater core for one and blocked condensate drain for the other.
