to me cuddling is the general idea of holding one another (awww) spooning is like a specific position, a fave for most people. both people on their sides and one person behind the other hold them, think face to back. Most of the time its woman being held by the man but in my experience men like it just as much as women!
oh i think it was named that because if you take two spoons and put them together face to back they fit all comfy like

spooning is a specific type of cuddle. Cuddling can by anything from sitting next to each other really close to hugging horizontally. Spooning however is where both parties lay on their sides with the guy behind and the girl in front so that the entire guys front is pressed up against the entire girls back.

Spooning is a bit more.. sexual. Its when you and a guy are laid down your your sides and he is hugging you from behind really close. If he decides to get horny, that situation can really get awkward. Cuddling is like hugging and being really close. They both require a relationship with a person above friendzone. I would say spooning is more intimate. And if you and a guy are doing these as "just friends" I find that hard to believe.

spooning is where on person is behind u facing the same direction as u are with their hands wrapped around ur body.
cuddling is where u both are facing opposite directions and i dont know what else is different about the two. sorry

I ve always considered spooning to be more frisky and sexual in nature rather than just cuddling. Spooning could also involve some grinding and foreplay.

I think spooning would be when your both facing the same direction , cuddeling could be any direction but mostly facing each other .
