To me it means to have the Holy Spirit in me, guiding and directing me in the Truth of God's Word, and by the His gifts I am equipped to serve the Lord and bear the fruits of His work in me. He is my Companion and my Comforter also.

alot of people cant explain this correctly they just give a theological term....to me what it means is walking in the truth ill explain the Spirit the Word of God and God himself are the same thing....so the bible and what it says came from God so its safe to say the Word is the same thing as God and the Spirit.....when we walk in the spirit we are thinking about things in this world that are truthfull....a good example the rich have millions and we have pretty much nothing (one example of truth) - thinking on this truth helps us to be separte from this world......another example: we can be happy all the time in life no matter if we are at work on monday morning or going to a party on friday night....that statement is truth.....because we can decide to be happy thur us spending time renewing our minds or in other words....training our minds to rethink our bad habits such as being sad at work that is a mindset we can change by practice (that is also truth).....alot of time i will think on the Grace of God and what Jesus did for us on the cross and for our sins and so i am increasing my faith (or belief) in God more by thinking on this as the bible say "faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God" another element of truth.....you see i am walking in all of this or thinking about this over adn over again....walking in the spirt is a figure of speech....it really talking about us thinking because we think and sometime daydream almost all the time unless we are really busy......The bible sometimes is hard to understand because it was written to a different culture and christians dont want to explore this and to teach this truth to us based on our culture.

Sunman is right, also in it's most basic, it means what it says, you are precieving{walking} in the spirit, this is normal, most live very strange lives, and think normal people are insane.
