I find that I'm not quite in contact with reality all the time, nowadays. It seems that none of the things that should really matter to me nowadays really stir too much of an emotional response. For example, I helped with a large project a couple of months ago which helped improve funding for our school, and have been getting compliments for my work, but the fact that I have helped and made a difference doesn't quite register with me. Also, I'm graduating this year, but even that fact hasn't settled in, yet. It's almost as if I'm wandering down a timeline, unfeeling, and I just want to actually be /affected/ by something. I want to /feel/ more, in life, rather than let everything pass me by, numb. Any suggestions?

It is probably that you do realize that school is almost over. If you don't have anything else plan your mind could be thinking, OK this is it....now what. The pats on the back are good, be happy that you have did some thing!!

I know what you mean about feeling like you need something major to snap you out of it, but you don't just focus on what you've got to do next. It wouldn't hurt to grab one of your friend or two go out to eat and a movie, have a laugh. You need a good laugh! Comedy show in town or some thing that you would have a good time at! I remember me and a friend went bowling...I can't bowl, we had so much fun laughing at our selves...I will never forget it!!
It was what I needed!!

You need to get in touch with your inner self, the real you that you've been pushing back for fear of reprisal from those closest to you. I should talk, HA!! ( This is exactly what I should be doing at the moment !!) Offer to some charity work, soup kitchen work, meals on wheels organisations usually need all the help they can get, donate old or unused clothing/household items, blankets, shoes etc. Gosh the list is endless, it's all too easy to get bogged down with the routine drudgery of day in, day out, same old, same old............. Sometimes its just a bit too hard to get out of your own way, ...... or not............. Think I might just take a bit of my own advice....... thanks for prompting me to think !!

PEACE

You're not numb , just keep doing what you do, don't stop.......all the stuff accumulates ;then one day you realize it's not about what you have done. it's HOW YOU DID IT ! No applause, no award, just the knowledge that the things you do are the things you must do......
