Go to your doctor and tell him/her what's going on. Maybe he/she will prescribe some sleep aides. Good luck!

Eyepoppin, I think you are smokin hot.
Your problem seems to be that you are going to sleep at the wrong time. You get your best sleep just when its time to get up.
You lay down and then you start thinking "I hope I can sleep". The more you think about it the worse it gets and on and on and on. Your problem is not sleeping, it's worrying about it.
What if you forget about sleep. You're doing without anyway. Stay up all night reading or whatever. Go to work anyway. You've done that already, right? Sooner or later you WILL get sleepy, whether you worry or not. That's your new sleep period. Now every day that's your sleep time. Don't worry about how much sleep you get. You have already gone to work with almost no sleep so you already know what that's like.

Talk to a therapist, maybe take anti-depressants. I didn't sleep for years. Everynight I would wake up in the middle of the night for 2-3 hours. I was always tired. I thought therapy was a bunch of hype. Finally go talked into going. Still took 6 months of therapy before I would try Zoloft. I am on the smallest dose and was sleeping like a baby within a week.

Try some meditation at night. Concentrate on your breathing in and out and let go of all other thoughts. I know there are times when I'm trying to sleep that all my thoughts are racing to what I have to do tomorrow and the rest of the week and I'm not able to sleep even though I'm so tired. When I just relax and focus on my breathing I am out like a log.

When I have that deep sleep, I'm usually refreshed in the mornings so I wake up perky and ready to start the day.
