I dont want bulky looking legs, but need to build some muscle to try to make them look sexier

Im underwieght, but will be gaining weight soon due to quitting smoking, lunges and squats are too hard on my knees...running is okay, but I can feel it in my knees after a while..my upper body and abs are how i want them but i tend to get lazy with my leg exercies and want to find a couple that wont hurt my knees and will tone up my legs...my legs look like chicken legs right now

big muscles come from the diet not from the exercise. the back squat is the single best overall leg exercise.

light squats, light lunges, inner/outer thigh machine, leg extensions, hamstring curls, stright leg deadlift. Do light weight and at least 12-15 reps, 3-4 sets.

combine any of these excercises with a good cardio routine : leg press, squats, lunges, glute machine etc.
