If you have access to a gym then the best cardio workout is an elliptical trainer (cross trainer, skier, whatever you want to call it) It works your whole body and there's no joint impact like with jogging. That or swimming are your best bet (for the same reason)

All aerobic exercise burns fat, so you can develop your own favourite ways of doing it whether running, walking, stairs or working out. See what feels right and is enjoyable for you. In my case, workouts at the gym did not burn fat, they built muscle but I didn't change my diet so I never lost weight. I had to combine exercise with diet to actually burn fat.

A great website to visit is:

http://www.burnthefat.com/?hop=gotryitnow

The site was created by a personal trainer and shows you great ways to lose the weight (especially fat) and keep it off forever.
It also explains to you why most diets you try will fail.

I am 5'7" and was 175 when I started. I've been on this program for 3 months and I've lost a total of 25 lbs.
